Every English-language page chasing this keyword is going to lead with the 3rd Anniversary Set went 6x. That number is real. It is also one of three data points, and the other two do not tell the same story.

The 2nd trades around ¥53,000 sealed, roughly 3x MSRP. The 3rd went vertical then rolled over 14.5% and has been flat at ¥124,000 for two months . Three sets, three different outcomes. That is not a trade thesis. That is a coin flip with a fat tail.
The anniversary-set track record is 0.91x, ~3x, and 6.26x. One vertical, one underwater, one unmeasured until now. The 4th ships February 2027. If it does what the 3rd did, you enter a coin flip whose upside takes about 18 months to arrive.

Meli-melo, one of the Japanese trade blogs covering the reveal, flagged that Mihawk OP14-119's power stat was corrected from 11000 to 10000 on the reprint. That is a change in playable value, not just a cosmetic alt-art. English coverage of the set has not surfaced this yet.
The Bandai-side reveal covered the character list, codes, and art. It did not publish rarities (whether any of the nine ships as a parallel/alt-art at a lower rate, per the pattern established by prior anniversary sets), nor the exact per-card odds if any is randomized. Refresh window: December 2026 to February 2027 as those slots typically drop with shipping.
The DON!! cards and power counters are gone.
The 3rd Anniversary Set came with 10 promos, 10 DON!! cards, 6 power counters, a leather storage box, and a leather card case. The 4th has no DON!! cards and no power counters in the announced contents, and no “leather” wording on the case. What it adds is a 589×337mm playmat, which the 3rd did not include.

The run did not start immediately. Sets shipped December 2025 and were still under ¥40,000 in March 2026. The move happened March to June. If you win this lottery, you are looking at February 2027 delivery and probably a slow Q1 2027. And the curve already rolled over once. It came off ¥145,000 in June and has been flat at ¥124,000 for two months. Anniversary sets are not straight lines.
Who this guide is for
Enter the lottery. At ¥18,700 for a mat, 70 sleeves, a case, a box, and nine promos, this is priced like a supply set, not like a chase product. Landed in the US you are around $170. That is normal money for a good playmat and a case.
Enter the lottery once. The 3rd Anniversary Set says the upside is real. The February 2027 ship date says your money is parked at least a year and a half before the interesting part starts, and the 1st Anniversary Set is a reminder that the interesting part does not always come.
You do not need the set. Nine promos from a set this size will all appear as singles on Yahoo Auctions and Mercari Japan within days of the February shipment. Historically the Shanks and Mihawk slots carry most of the value in these releases, and the rest sell cheap. Waiting costs you nothing and saves you about $150.

How to enter from outside Japan
Premium Bandai Japan does not ship overseas and it does not accept proxy services. ZenMarket and similar agents have been blocked from the site since 2023. What still works is ordering it yourself and having it delivered to a Japanese forwarding address.
Community reports suggest the reliability order for the September charge runs Japanese-issued card first, then Amazon Pay linked to a Japanese Amazon account, then a Wise or Revolut card with prior Japanese merchant history, then a mainstream US Visa or Mastercard. This ranking is community pattern, not a sourced quote, and it is the weakest claim in this guide. Treat it as directional. If you have a first-hand data point from the 3rd Anniversary lottery in your circle, that is worth more than the ranking.
Multiple accounts sharing an address and payment method is the documented way entries get voided in bulk. Enter once, on the account you actually use.

The US de minimis exemption for shipments under $800 is gone, so every parcel now clears on a duties-paid basis. Forwarders quote this at shipment, not at order. Japan Post has suspended international mail to the US, so your options through Tenso are courier services only, which is the reason the shipping line is $40 and not $15. Against a 3rd Anniversary Set trading at $787 today, a $200 landed cost is the cheapest way into this product by a wide margin. That gap holds regardless of whether the 4th appreciates.
Why the art looks different: GOO CHOKI PAR
Bandai did not hand the 4th Anniversary art to a card illustrator. They handed it to a graphic design unit with no prior card-game credits, which is why the set looks nothing like previous anniversary work. That is a real reason to own the product beyond the resale story, and it is the piece nobody in English is going to cover unless they read Japanese design press.

If you missed the window or lost the lottery
Three routes, ranked by what we would actually do .
Japanese winners receive their sets in February and a chunk of them list immediately. The first four to six weeks after shipment are consistently the softest pricing the set will ever see outside the lottery itself. The 3rd Anniversary Set sat under ¥40,000 for three months after delivery before it moved.
Nine promo cards, and most of the value historically sits in two or three of them. If what you want is the Shanks, buy the Shanks. Wait for the February 2027 shipment and pick them up on Yahoo Auctions or Mercari.
Japanese shops list unfulfilled lottery allocations ahead of delivery. This is the most expensive route and it carries counterparty risk on a six-month-out shipment. We do not recommend it.
Wherever you buy, the price of record is what things actually sold for. eBay sold listings and Yahoo Auctions closed results, not asking prices.
